In 1965, the Borden Company constructed a large modern dairy at 1307 Versailles Road, at Dairy Lane. Borden, Inc. was the largest U. S. producer of dairy products. The company was headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. During 1970, the company acquired the dairy of Ball & Company, and operated locally as the Borden-Ball Dairy. By 1975, the company had returned to the Borden tradename. During the 1980s, the company also purchased the Meadow Gold dairy products company.[i]
