Chenault, Christopher D.

1846 - 1925

Farmer, Railroad President and Banker.

Christopher D. Chenault was born during 1846 in Madison County, Kentucky, a descendent of William Chenault (a pioneer settler of Boonsboro).  He was the President of the Lexington & Atlantic Railroad, which operated between Versailles, Richmond and Irvine, Kentucky.  Around 1900, that firm was taken over by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad.  After this sale, he moved to Lexington and maintained a large farming operation in Fayette and Woodford counties.  Mr. Chenault served as the President of the National Exchange Bank from 1902 to 1906, and as a director of the Lexington Banking and Trust Company from 1906 to 1908.  He died in April 1925.
