First Courthouse – two-story log structure, built in the spring of 1782, on the northwest corner of Main Cross and Main Streets, replaced 1788.
Second Courthouse – two-story limestone building, completed in fall of 1788, on the east end of the “Publick Square” on Main Street, built by Captain Cape, demolished 1806.
Third Courthouse – three-story brick building, finished in 1806, with two outbuildings on Cheapside and Upper Street, designed by David Sutton, built by Winslow & Stephens, cost $15,000, remodeled during 1814-1820, razed February 1883.
Fourth Courthouse – three-story masonry building, built 1884-1885, cost $112,277, designed by Thomas W. Boyd of Pittsburg, built by F. Bush & Sons, burned May 1897.
Fifth Courthouse – three and half-story masonry building, built 1898-1900, cost $255,169, designed by Lehman & Schmitt of Cleveland, built by Howard & Clark, interior renovated 1961, closed 2002, museum 2003.
Sixth Courthouse – pair of five-story steel and masonry buildings, on Limestone between Main and Barr Streets, built in 2000-2002, designed by Sherman Carter Barnhart, cost $41,900,000, named for Chief Justice Robert F. Stephens.
