Distiller and Banker

Robert B. Hamilton was born on October 5, 1806.  From 1881 to 1888, he was a partner in the whiskey and liquor brokerage firm of Stoll, Hamilton & Company (with Richard P. Stoll).  In 1872, Hamilton became President of the Lexington City National Bank and led the bank through the Panic of 1873.  He resigned in October 1883 due to ill health and died on August 6, 1888.
