Louis E. Hillenmeyer was born on November 22, 1885 in Fayette County, the son of Hector F. Hillenmeyer. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, he joined the family's nursery business. Mr. Hillenmeyer served as a director of the Frankfort Natural Gas Company, Columbia Gas System, Lexington Water Company, General Telephone of Kentucky, Hurst Home Insurance Company, Security Trust Company (from 1930 to 1961) and First Security National Bank and Trust Company (from 1961 to 1965). He died during 1965.
