Guy A. Huguelet was born in Charleston, South Carolina on January 1, 1891. In 1906, he joined the Southern Railway, leaving in 1912 to enter law school at the University of Kentucky. After graduating in 1914, he returned to the Southern Railway, but resigned a year later to enter private practice. During the First World War, he served with the Federal government in Washington for a dollar a year. After the war, he entered in partnership with Rodman Keenon, under the name Keenon & Huguelet, to practice law. His firm was subsequently merged into Stoll, Keenon & Park. He left the active practice of law in 1930.
In 1923, Mr. Huguelet became associated with the local bus company and helped organize the Consolidated Coach Lines in 1926. He became the company's President, expanded service into other regions and incorporated the company as the Southeastern Greyhound Lines (which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange). In 1951, Southeastern was merged into Greyhound Corporation.
Mr. Huguelet was a prominent director of the First National Bank and Trust Company from 1946 to 1955. In addition, he was a director of Lafayette Hotel, Southern Belle Dairy Company and a number of closely held corporations. He was elected the President of the Keeneland Association in 1955. He also helped raise the funds to build the St. Joseph Hospital on Harrodsburg Road. He died on July 23, 1955.
