Nichols, John C.

John C. Nichols was born during 1886 in Mercer County, Kentucky.  After receiving his education at Georgetown College, he began working in 1907 for the Farmers Bank and Trust Company in Georgetown (as the Cashier).  In 1923, Mr. Nichols came to Lexington as a Vice President of the Phoenix National Bank and Trust Company.  After the merger in 1929, he became Vice President of the First National Bank and Trust Company.  Mr. Nichols became the President of the First National in 1953, serving until his retirement in 1957.  Mr. Nichols continued to serve on the Board of Directors of the First National until the merger in 1961, and then of First Security until his death in 1970.
